Why I believe what I do
What does prophecy say about the coming Messiah?
Genesis 15:4: “Then Yahweh’s word came to him in reply, ‘…YOUR HEIR WILL BE THE ISSUE OF YOUR OWN BODY.”
Deuteronomy 18:15+18-19 “Yahweh your Elohim will raise up a PROPHET like ME (Moshe); you will listen to him …I shall PUT MY (YAHWEH’S) WORDS INTO HIS MOUTH AND HE WILL TELL THEM EVERYTHING THAT I COMMAND HIM.
Isaiah 11:1-3: “A shoot will spring from the stock of JESSE, a NEW SHOOT will grow from HIS ROOTS. On him will rest THE SPIRIT OF YAHWEH, the spirit of wisdom and insight, the spirit of counsel and power, the spirit of knowledge and FEAR OF YAHWEH: his inspiration will lie in FEARING YAHWEH. His judgment will not be by appearances, his verdict not given on hearsay.”
From these three prophecies about Messiah, we can see FACTS:
- Will be human.
- Will be a Prophet.
- Yahweh’s spirit is the means behind him being able to prophesy.
- The “fear” or respect of Yahweh is what drives him. (See proverbs 2:5 and 9:10)
What do the Scriptures say about Yahweh as Creator?
EXODUS 3:15- “And Elohim said moreover unto Moshe, “Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, YAHWEH Elohim of you fathers,…hath sent me unto you: THIS IS MY NAME FOREVER, AND THIS IS MY MEMORIAL UNTO ALL GENERATIONS.”
PSALM 83:18- “That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Yahweh, the Most High over all the earth.”
PSALM 86:10- “For thou art great, and does wondrous things: thou art Elohim alone.”
PSALM 148:5+13- “Let them praise the name of Yahweh at WHOSE COMMAND THEY WERE MADE… Let them praise the name of Yahweh: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.”
ISAIAH 44:24- “Thus saith Yahweh, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I Yahweh that maketh all things; that stretched forth the heavens ALONE; that spread abroad the earth BY MYSELF.”
From the Scriptures in the O.T., we obtain these FACTS:
- He is Elohim and his name is Yahweh.
- His name is Yahweh forever.
- His name is a memorial forever.
- Only his name is Yahweh.
- His name is excellent.
- His glory is above all.
- Yahweh alone created all things, by himself.
- He created by his words/COMMAND.
John chapter 1, as well as the entire book, is consumed with wisdom analogies. The Messianic Jews see the Messiah as a walking Torah. When we walk with Wisdom, we walk with the Light. (See Proverbs 6:23). As I have mentioned many times, going through Proverbs 1-8 is a great start to understand WHAT was “WITH” the Elohim and “WAS” Elohim. It is the light in the beginning where Yahweh spoke and said, “Let there be light.” And there was light, The light was SEPARATED FROM THE DARKNESS.
Highlights from Proverbs 1:8:
Proverbs 1:28-“…they will look eagerly for me (wisdom) and will not find me” (John 7:34)
2:1-2- “My child, if you take my WORDS to heart, if you set store by my COMMANDMENTS, tuning your ear to WISDOM, tuning your heart to understanding.” (WORDS/COMMANDMENTS/WISDOM = SAME)
2:6- “YAHWEH HIMSELF IS GIVER OF WISDOM, FROM HIS MOUTH ISSUE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING.”
3:19- “IN WISDOM, YAHWEH LAID THE EARTHS FOUNDATIONS, IN UNDERSTANDING, HE SPREAD OUT THE HEAVENS.”
8:22- “YAHWEH CREATED ME (WISDOM), FIRST FRUITS OF HIS FASHIONING, BEFORE THE OLDEST OF HIS WORKS.”
8:35 “For whoever finds me (wisdom) FINDS LIFE, and obtains the FAVOR OF YAHWEH.”
What did the wittnesses in the N.T. say about Yahoshua:
John 1:47+49 “When Yahoshua saw Nathanael coming he said of him, ‘There, truly, is an Israelite in whom there is NO DECEPTION.’”… “Nathanael answered, ‘Rabbi, you are the Son of Yahweh, you are the King of Israel.’” (see Deuteronomy 17;14-15 about King Of Israel REGULATIONS!)
John 3:2 “…Rabbi, we know that you have come from Yahweh as a teacher.”
John 6:14 “…the people said, ‘This is indeed the PROPHET who is to come into the world.’” (See Deut 18:15-19)
John 6:68-69 “…You have the message of eternal life…we have come to know that you are the Holy One of Yahweh.”
Luke 20:21 “…’Master, we know that you say and teach what is right; you favour no one, but TEACH the way of Yahweh is all honesty.”
Matthew 9:8 “A feeling of awe came over the crowd when they saw this, and they praised YAHWEH for having GIVEN such AUTHORITY TO HUMAN BEINGS.”
Luke 7:16 “Everyone was filled with awe and glorified Yahweh saying, ‘A Great Prophet has risen up among us; Yahweh has visited his people.” (Visited means: look upon, help, care for, etc., Not explicitly a personal “visit”.)
John 9:17 “So they spoke to the blind man again, ‘What have you got to say about him yourself, now that he has OPENED YOUR EYES?’ The man answered, ‘He is a PROPHET’”
1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is only one Yahweh, and there is only one mediator between Yahweh and humanity, himself a human being, Messiah Yahoshua,” (Mediators are a THIRD PARTY! Humans are, well…HUMAN!)
Acts 17:30-31 “But now, overlooking the times of ignorance, Yahweh is telling everyone everywhere that they must repent, because he has fixed a day when the whole world will be judged in uprightness by a MAN he has APPOINTED. And Yahweh has publicly proved this by raising him from the dead.”
From these UNCHALLENGED FACTS, (NO ONE CORRECTED THEM, NOT EVEN MESSIAH), we see Messiah is:
- Son of Yahweh.
- King of Israel.
- Rabbi/Teacher.
- Carrying the message of Eternal Life.
- Great Prophet.
- MEDIATOR.
- HUMAN.
- APPOINTED.
Yahoshua is Yahweh’s Son by being created in Miriam’s womb. And overcoming sin and therefore able to have everlasting life, Yahoshua became firstborn heir at the resurrection, taking the void where Adam (Yah’s literal firstborn) should have been as a birthright. Both Yahoshua and Adam were Yahweh’s sons, and like the parallels in the scriptures of second born receiving firstborn status…. SO IT IS! We receive adoption status THROUGH Yahoshua. Luke 1:35 says, “…the power of the MOST HIGH will COVER you with is shadow. And so the child WILL BE HOLY and WILL BE called Son of Yahweh.” No mention of him being reincarnated! I should hope not! And that because of his royal conception, he WILL BE Holy and Yah’s son.
We too are adopted and called Yahweh’s children. Romans 8:17 “And if we are children, then WE ARE HEIRS, heirs of Yahweh and JOINT-HEIRS WITH MESSIAH.” (How can you be “Heir” to something you helped create???)
Joseph’s 11 BROTHERS also parallel Messiah and his status.
Genesis 37:9-10: “,… ‘Look, I have had another dream,’ he said. “There were the SUN, the MOON and ELEVEN STARS bowing to me.’…(His father said) “Are all of us then, MYSELF, your MOTHER and your BROTHERS, to come and bow to the ground before you?”
Matthew 12:49-50 Messiah’s states: “…Here are MY MOTHER and MY BROTHERS. Anyone who does the will of MY FATHER in heaven is MY BROTHER and SISTER and MOTHER.”
Joseph became the King of Egypt AFTER being a slave. Yahoshua also came as a slave/servant and is returning as a King as well! He also was one in 12 (TRIBES). Yahoshua states his Father is in heaven and that we HUMANS are his KINFOLK. He also states “No one is good but YAHWEH ALONE."
Psalm 110:
“Yahweh declared to my Adon, ‘Take your seat at my right hand, till I have made your enemies your footstool.’ Yahweh will stretch out the scepter of your power; from Zion you will rule your foes all around you. Royal dignity has been yours from the DAY OF YOUR BIRTH, sacred honor from THE WOMB, from the dawn of your youth. YAHWEH HAS SWORN AN OATH HE WILL NEVER RETRACT, YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER OF THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK.”
Major FACTS found here. Yahweh spoke to Yahoshua in a VISION. This is explained in Acts 2:29-36. Verses 30-31 say in regards to David and his ability to see this…”But since he was a PROPHET, and knew that Yahweh had sworn him an oath to make one of his descendents succeed him on the throne, he SPOKE WITH FOREKNOWLEDGE about the Resurrection of the Messiah…” This makes 100% sense because in the vision, Yahoshua is seated at Yahweh’s right hand, where he currently is now.
We also see how it was prophesied that he will be royal from BIRTH and from the WOMB. Unless you want to try and say the Hebrew Scriptures teach reincarnation! If so, you are saying that he stepped down a level or two to be reincarnated into a mere human from a “Creator of the Universe” status! Scripture says he will be a PRIEST/ INTERCESSOR BETWEEN ISRAEL AND YAHWEH, and in order of Melchizedek-aka- AFTER MELCHIZEDEK!
Messiah said:
Mark 6:4: “…A PROPHET is despised only in HIS OWN COUNTRY, among HIS OWN RELATIONS and in HIS OWN HOUSE.”
John 8:40+49 “As it is, you want to kill me, A MAN who has told you the TRUTH as I have LEARNT it from Yah.”
John 3:34 “since he whom Yahweh has sent speaks Yahweh’s own words, for Yahweh gives him the Spirit without reserve.”
John 4:22+25-26+44 “You worship what you do not know; WE worship what We do know;…” … “The woman said to him, ‘I know that MESSIAH is coming; and when he comes he will EXPLAIN everything.’ Yahoshua said, ‘THAT IS WHO I AM, I WHO SPEAK TO YOU.”… “He himself had declared that a PROPHET is not honoured in his own home town.”
John 20:17 “…But go find MY BROTHERS, and tell them: I am ascending to MY FATHER and YOUR FATHER, to MY ELOHIM and YOUR ELOHIM.”
From the Messiah’s mouth we find these FACTS:
- He is a Prophet.
- He is related to humans.
- He is a HUMAN.
- His house is here. (Our Father who art in HEAVEN!!! See 1 Kings chapter 8)
- He LEARNED TRUTH from Yahweh (Like the prophecies said he would.)
- Speaks Yah’s own words. (Like Deuteronomy 18 said he would.)
- He WORSHIPS Yahweh. (As his Disciples did.)
- He is the ANOINTED/MESSIAH.
- Yahweh is his FATHER and ours.
- Yahweh is his ELOHIM and ours.
Trying to wrap this up now. Looking at 2 John 7 we read, “There are many deceivers at large in the world, refusing to acknowledge Yahoshua Messiah as coming in HUMAN NATURE…” (You can’t be human AND Divine, or else we would have been told of it directly, wouldn't we?!)
Human nature/FLESH means: By extension, human being or fallen human nature, which is frail and corrupt in contrast to spiritual things. NIV version says, “SINFUL NATURE.” We see this word again used in 1 John 4:2, “This is the PROOF of the Spirit of Yahweh: any spirit which ACKNOWLEDGES YAHOSHUA MESSIAH COME IN HUMAN NATURE IS FROM YAHWEH…”
Clearly there was some false teaching going on back then. Still to this very day. Wonder what that is? John sounds pretty serious about Yahoshua’s status as a human being. Yahweh cannot be in a man’s body! And if that is not your issue, and you deny the Trinity, then these things should also prove he is not ‘divine” any more than you or I will be. He is in Yah’s image and we too are to be in his image. Does this mean we are “divine?” I don’t know. I would just feel better saying that Yahweh is Creator as stated….PERIOD. Yahoshua is his Created Son who was pre-destined to take our death penalty away to reconcile us to our Father. Even the verse that states “Before Abraham was, I am,” doesn’t mean he is “divine”. What does it mean? John 1:15 “HE WHO COMES AFTER ME HAS PASSED AHEAD OF ME” KJ SAYS “before me.” Before here means: First, CHRONOLOGICALLY OR IN ORDER IF IMPORTANCE!!! In the wisdom sense, Yahoshua is first. “Someone greater that Shalomon…) But in order of importance, John’s words make more sense. John acknowledges Yahoshua is born after him, yet he is also saying Yahoshua is first in order of IMPORTANCE.
1 John 4:12+20 “NO ONE HAS EVER SEEN YAHWEH….since no one who fails to love the brother whom he can see can love YAHWEH WHOM HE HAS NOT SEEN.”
Yahoshua Parallel:
“…the people revered Yahweh and put their faith in Yahweh,
and in Moshe his servant.”
